To be totally honest with you, I am obsessed with fragrance. Just something about being told you smell good is just a great boost to your confidence. As a personal quirk, I don’t have just one single fragrance that is my signature scent, but multiple depending on the occasion. I’m talking work, church, brunch, a night out, or a casual night in. They all have their own scent (like I said, personal quirk). Summer is no different, I think it’s a fun time to try out something different. This season’s fragrance launches are hitting it out of the park (I guess that year long break was good for something), and there are some brands that have really surprised me. So here are my top five new summer fragrances you need to be wearing.

- Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle Soleil Crystal
Since we are being honest, I’ve never really been a fan of the original La Vie Est Belle. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the spun sugar notes in there (I’m not the biggest fan of anything smelling candy sweet). The best way to describe this perfume is like someone bottled sunshine, it’s literally summer in a spray. With top notes of mandarin, a base of coconut and Madagascan Bourbon Vanilla, with some iris and ylang-ylang thrown in for good measure. You definitely won’t regret picking up this fragrance.

2. Valentino Donna Born in Roma Yellow Dream
Citrus florals are honestly my favorite kind of fragrance. There’s just something about them that I naturally gravitate towards. So when I found out Valentino was releasing this perfume, I was over the moon and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. This scent takes Italian Lemon and twists it with Damascus rose, and the base is a clean, light musk. it’s been one of my absolute favorites for everyday wear.

3. Juicy Couture Oui Splash
If you grew up in the early 2000s, then there’s a chance that the slightest whiff of Viva la Juicy takes you straight back to middle school. That being said, I usually run the other way when I see a Juicy launch. It’s normally just too sweet, too immature smelling for my taste, but this scent surprised me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s probably still more for my girls on the younger side, however you’re not going to smell like you rolled in straight sugar with this one. The notes are lemon sorbet and pineapple, with jasmine and magnolia, with a base of cedarwood and white moss.

4. Estee Lauder Beautiful Magnolia
Again, this one surprised me. I’ve never been a lover of Estee Lauder Fragrance, it’s kind of like Juicy Couture (except instead of me feeling twelve, it’s more like I’m a fifty year old), but they got me. It’s still a more mature scent, however I don’t feel like a grandma wearing it. The notes are magnolia (of course), with Solar Gardena and Turkish Rose, and a base of cedarwood and sandalwood. It’s such a light scent, I actually love layering it with the Valentino. I feel like they complement each other perfectly.

5. Ellis Brooklyn Bee Eau De Parfum
For my girls who love sustainable beauty, this one’s for you. Bee is darker and richer scent than the other fragrances on this list, making it amazing for a night out. There are notes of dark rum, cinnamon, vanilla bean, sandalwood, and of course, honey! It’s non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty free, so not only do you smell good, you feel good about wearing it too.
